This will be my fourth season
coaching competitive swimming and completeing my first year as
owner/head coach of the Denton Sailfish. I just successfully
completed my third summer season which was more fulfilling than
ever anticipated! Our TAAF team has had swimmers compete at the
circuit meet level all the way to Nationals. I am a certified level
2 coach and member of ASCA, American Swim Coaches Association as
well as USMS,
United
States
Masters Swimming, having swam at the
National swim meet in Austin 2008. I am a competitive
triathlete having competed in over 20 races in the past 3 years and
have run 4 marathons and multiple half marathons~
I have a bachelors degree in Social
Work with a minor in Psychology from UNT and a teaching
certification from TWU. I am currently a dyslexia therapist for the
Denton Independent School District at both Strickalnd and Navo
Middle schools.I love teaching kids whether it be in the pool or
classroom!
My philosophy for the team is to
first and foremost, have fun. I am competitive by nature, but also
understand that this is not the case for all participants. I know
the fine line on which swimmers to push and which want to
specifically swim for fun and swimmers can do both while swimming
with the sailfish!

This is my second season to coach under the guidance of Coach
Amy and have been witness to many successes with the team as a
result of everyones hard work. I have been a competitive triathlete
for 2 years and have found my way to the age group podium a handful
of times and have even tackled the half-iron distance in triathlon. I will also
be a member of the masters swimming program, in hopes to extend my
current athleticism to be a competitive swimmer.
When I’m not swimming, biking, running, coaching, or
hanging out with Amy, I am Director of Operations for a company
called Systeem Medical
Information Systems. SMIS delivers managed network services to
multi-site medical facilities. I may be a geek, but I’m
really an athlete at heart.
Soon, I'm hoping to have my level 1 ASCA coaching certificate
which will be the founding basis of many more coaching certs such
as a USA triathlon
certification; I'm also going back to school to get my masters in
exercise physiology.
I’m very excited to bring what I have researched and
learned about exercise physiology to the table as the dry land
coach for the Sailfish. I try to keep things new and different for
dryland, but make sure that we are stressing swim specific muslce
groups to make you stronger and faster in the water.
If you have any questions about me or any of the programs, feel
free to email me.

I am Hannah Ross, and I will be assisting
Coach Amy with all leveled teams. I have been swimming for eight
years now, and expect to swim many more. I have gone to state three
times, twice for swimming once for water polo. I have been on many
teams, such as the Denton Dolphins, LAC, and the high school swim
team. I also enjoy wakeboarding, and pretty much anything that
involves water. I go to Guyer high school, and I have participated
in the varsity swim team and water polo since my Freshman year.
Some goals I have for the team are to build endurance, shave times,
get a good basic technique for all four strokes, and have a fun
time. I am very excited to be a part of this new team and getting
the chance to teach your young ones how to swim. If you have any
questions about anything you can email me at coach.hannah@daswimclub.com. I
hope to see many new faces!
